Synchronous Course

Enroll in one of our learning intensives and learn week by week with top educators in Mississippi. Intensives offer a hands-on learning experience, with learning checks, assignments, group forums and more! We also can offer CEUs with many of our intensive programs.

Listen . Think . Learn

In the Listen . Think . Learn course, participants will explore the learning possibilities of a well-planned read-aloud! Increase students’ language and proﬁciency in using comprehension processes. Gain eﬀective planning and instructional strategies to design thematic units that build students‘ background knowledge through eﬀective questioning. Learn techniques for teaching and assessing vocabulary. Collaborate on how to apply these concepts into your school’s context!

Exemplar Teachers

The exemplar teachers are our first cohort of teachers to participate in our Listen. Think. Learn program. These teachers are going through both in-person and online trainings, networking with each other, and serving as ambassadors for the program within their schools and districts. Having these teachers is so important to not only help spread the word about resources available to educators across the state, but to also help build a strong community of educators that can help one another and enhance student’s learning experiences.

What is The LIFT?

Our Mission is to LIFT educators and students in Mississippi to new heights by providing innovative resources and training.

We accomplish our mission by providing resources for educators, online professional development, and in-person workshops and events all developed with one common goal: to improve the literacy skills of Mississippi’s children.

This is a project of the Mississippi Children’s Museum with the goal of bringing educational resources and training to every Mississippian.
